Full-Time In-Home Hospice RN – Ridgeland – $3,000 SIGN-ON BONUS

 

JOB SUMMARY

Join our team today. For a short time we are offering $3,000 sign-on bonus for full-time RN positions hired. Hospice Ministries, a non-profit and community-based organization, is committed to ensuring that each person be provided the opportunity to die with dignity, in a manner as free from physical and emotional pain as possible. We care for our patients where they are most comfortable – in their home, assisted living facility, nursing home, or any residential community. We give them specialized care for their acute symptoms where pain and symptoms can be controlled, as well as coordinate an extensive care plan involving all members of our Interdisciplinary Team. The Registered Nurse is a professional nurse, under the supervision of the Patient Care Coordinator, who provides direct care to the patient and the family facing a life-limiting illness. The RN must possess necessary skills to interact with other members of the Interdisciplinary group as well as the patient / family, physician, and hospital. Functions within the scope of professional nursing practice as defined by the Mississippi State Board of Nursing.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/ Training/ Experience:

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed in the state of Mississippi. A minimum of one-year nursing experience is required, two years preferred.

Requirements:

  • Currently licensed in the state of Mississippi
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license, and Social Security Card
  • Must possess good oral and written communication skills
  • In-Home RN must be available for rotating on-call schedule

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Evaluates and performs ongoing assessments of patients to determine care needs
  • Initiates individualized plan of care in collaboration with patient / caregiver, referring physician, and members of the IDT group, including appropriate and realistic goals
  • Administers medications and treatments as prescribed
  • Educates patient and family regarding symptom management and care needs
  • Modifies and updates nursing portion of IDT care plan based on the changing needs of the patient / family
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of pain control and symptom management in the care of the terminally ill
