Get Involved

Hospice Ministries, Inc.
There are many ways to actively participate and get involved in the ministry of Hospice Ministries. Whether it’s volunteering in our inpatient facility, participating in a fundraiser, or simply helping us create awareness through our social media channels, every effort is important. Consider becoming active in any of the following ways:

Pray

Prayer is a fundamental part of Hospice Ministries and a great way for you to be involved. We ask that you specifically pray for
• Each patient currently with Hospice Ministries
• Caregivers and their families
• Hospice Ministries staff and volunteers

Volunteer

Hospice Ministries’ Volunteers are dedicated individuals who give of themselves to help ensure the mission of hospice. Our Volunteers are an important part of the Hospice team and assist in a broad spectrum of services for patients and their families. These include direct services such as reading and listening, gardening, clerical support, emotional, spiritual, and bereavement support.

Refer

We ask that you refer and recommend Hospice Ministries to patients and families who are looking for end of life care. We are committed to ensuring that each person be provided the opportunity to die with dignity, in a matter as free from physical and emotional pain as possible.

Participate in Awareness

Hospice Ministries hosts events throughout the year that are designed to promote awareness of hospice care and Hospice Ministries. Support us by participating in events and by following us in social media. Join the online effort to share what Hospice Ministries does to people who are at the end of life.

A Team Approach to Peace

“Many time when patients are at the end of life and are getting hospice care, it’s not always just the physical part of the dying process that they experience. They have a lot of spiritual pain, and sometimes they just don’t know what’s going to happen when they die. Many times, patients have a lot of spiritual anguish, and our chaplains can help them get through that. Sometimes social workers see that a patient is just having a lot of suffering, but it’s not physical suffering because they’re not complaining of physical pain. Sometimes it’s “unfinished business” that a patient wants to resolve in their life, and our staff, particularly our social workers, can help our patients die with a good peace about where they left their life.”
